New Jersey Board of Tree Experts
Rory MacInnis the only NJ Licensed Tree Experts (LTE) in southern Ocean County. This license was developed by the NJ Board of Tree Experts (1940) as a way to set a standard for tree work in New Jersey. The LTE is the only credential recognized by the state for the tree care industry. Initially developed as the Certified Tree Expert credential, the NJ Board of Tree Experts lobbied and passed the Tree Expert and Tree Care Operator Licensing Act in 2010 with full implementation commencing in 2017 converting the “Certified Tree Expert” to “Licensed Tree Expert.” This change helps the state better regulate the industry to ensure safety, proper tree care and accountability. Licensed Tree Experts are the most knowledgeable and ethical tree care professionals in the state. The NJ Board of Tree Experts developed an extensive, intensive examination based on all aspects of tree health and maintenance in order to assess an applicant’s knowledge and ensure the highest standards and expectations for the industry are met. As a result, only an LTE (not LTCO) is able to provide advise on tree issues based on this law. Each tree care company should be registered as a Licensed Tree Expert or Licensed Tree Care Operator (LTE/LTCO). Please visit the NJ Board of Tree Experts website for the most recent information regarding this license and differentiate between the services an LTE company and an LTCO company can provide.
